Community Events

How do we build Community? The following is a list of a few notable examples of how the Village Voice Party has worked to build a sense of community in the Village of Justice!

Winter Wonderland!

The Winter Wonderland festivities are coming to town! Each year working together in the spirit of Christmas and Holiday cheer, the Village of Justice teams up with the Justice Park District and Justice Public Library for this wonderful event. Also joining in the spirit, our Police Department and Roberts Park Fire fighters all help to make this a truly special day. Public Works also pitches in, as they always do, to assist with the many volunteers that come out. Truly a community event well received by all!

The Village Car Show!

The popular and expanded “Cars under the Stars!” held each August is brought together by trustee Richard Sparr and wife Robin. Two people very dedicated to the village. With too many volunteers to mention and Public Works, pitching in, this event brings many auto classes and hundreds of cars into our town. Live musical entertainment, vendors and food trucks populate the whole area of the Justice Park district’s large Veterans Park, to be under their towering outdoor lights. This ever growing event becomes more and more popular each year.

Veterans Appreciation!

Each year the village works with the Justice Park District to hold a memorial for fallen soldiers and first responders on Memorial Day weekend. The village also holds an annual veteran’s appreciation dinner around Veteran’s Day. Along with the dinner, the village has also implemented a program to deliver yard signs thanking our vets for their service, a program well loved and looked forward to by all our heroes.

Building Justice Together!

Building Justice is not just the role of the board, it is a community mission. With such events we at the Village Voice Party hope to build a sense of community in the village so that our residents can grow more engaged in civic life. Together, we can build Justice to be a community for all of us.
